Sarah was hands down the best decision we made when planning our wedding, and we can't stop smiling when we look through the photos she took. First off, my wife and I were referred to Sarah by a coworker who had some epic photos to show of her work from his wedding, and we were immediately impressed by her quality.The real thing that pushed us over the edge with Sarah was when we chatted with her on the phone and then in-person for a meeting, where we knew right away she was "the one". Not only was she incredibly thorough and insightful with what she had in mind for us based off our scattered ideas of what we wanted, she actually took the time to try and get to know us and about our lives together. I'll be honest, at first we were a little hesitant since most people give you the obligatory "Hi, how are you, how did you two meet?" question and move on. Not Sarah. She spoke with us at length about what inspirations we had for different elements of the wedding, the venue, our personal style, our lives, and actually cared about this big journey we were embarking on together. Not only was this incredibly rare and refreshing, but it made us feel like she completely knew what we wanted--even when we couldn't articulate it ourselves.Sarah helped us plan out a timeline for the whole event (something that even our day-of coordinator didn't take action on at that time), and helped us tweak things to best fit what we wanted in our photos. At the end of the day, we figured the photos are the most important thing you have to remember the wedding day so we wanted these to be the best they possibly could be.On wedding day, Sarah and her professional team showed up early and went to town photographing every detail from the venue to our clothing and accessories, even before we showed up to get ready. Throughout the whole event Sarah and her team were amazing, and made us feel comfortable being in front of the camera on a very hectic day. All our guests loved how it felt like there were photographers from her team everywhere, catching all the little fun details that made the day so fun.Her turnaround time for the first teaser pics was insanely quick, and they satiated our need while we spent time on our honeymoon and until we got the bulk of the photos back. The final delivery of pictures was absolutely perfect, and we couldn't have chosen a better person to capture the most important event in our lives to date. Hands down, my wife and I agree that Sarah was the best decision we made for the wedding, beyond the food, venue, and even the music. She truly made our wedding amazing, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Thanks Sarah!
I wish I could give Sarah 10 stars!!! Save yourself the headache and hire her NOW! She is absolutely INCREDIBLE! Sarah is by far my favorite from all of the vendors my husband and I hired for our big day. Sarah is incredibly talented and her passion shines through every moment she captured. When we received our photos, it truly felt like we were re-living the day, we loved EVERY SINGLE ONE. She captured moments not just pictures. Her style is absolutely breathtaking and always goes above and beyond the call of duty to capture that shot!And for those of you who are planning your whole day yourselves (we did), just know that Sarah is that one vendor who is organized, on time, and provides suggestions based on what your vision is. She is so sweet and kind and I even received compliments from some of our guests about how professional and approachable she is... because trust me, we all have the one crazy uncle/aunt/cousin/crazy single friend LOL... She just knows how to "handle" any craziness thrown at her. Sarah is truly the whole package. My husband and I love her and can't recommend her enough!! We can't wait to work with her again, she is stuck with us FOREVER!!!
Words cannot express how grateful I am to have been able to have Sarah capture my entire wedding day. I am so so happy with all of the pictures we got from our engagement shoot and our wedding. I love each of them so much, its hard to choose just a few for printing and framing! Sarah is so talented beyond compare. What she delivers is beyond expectation and she tries very hard to get to know you and your style first. She's a real professional and really understands photography, lighting, and all the elements that make for an amazing photo. She makes it seem like what she does is easy, but I know this woman works so hard! She is knowledgeable and knows what to ask in order to get to know you and what you like. Talking with her on the first interview over the phone was so easy! Right then she helped me envision a day of timeline, and even looked up what time the sunset was for the engagement shoot and wedding day. She takes the most amazing photos at sunset! You won't believe what she can do with the sun. Oh and don't get me started on what she can do with water and tide pools! Our engagement photos are out of this world! Not to mention her personality is so cool and fun and she definitely helped made us excited for the big day! During the engagement shoot we were a bit awkward, but after spending 3 hours with Sarah, and having her direct us on what to do, we felt like professional models by the end haha. I hope you will be as lucky to be able to book Sarah Mack for your special day too!
It's hard to put into words the appreciation my new wife and I have for Sarah and her amazing team. I'll start with a bullet list of all the positive aspects of our experience with Sarah and then follow with a detailed account. There were no negative aspects.
1. Sarah is professional and very personable. She comes prepared to all meetings and shoots. She's very good with straying guests and unmanageable children.
2. Sarah's artistic eye is amazing. Her photos will leave you speechless.
3. Photos do not look posed. This is the main reason we picked Sarah. Even though she sets up her shots, we didn't looked posed or awkward at all.
4. Personally scouts all locations prior to shoots. Tracks weather and sunset times and plans shoot accordingly. Contacts venue to determine locations, logistics and restrictions.
5. Communicates very well. Responds to emails next day at the latest, usually same day.
6. Always on time. Usually early to shoots getting lighting settings right and setting up equipment.
7. Sessions are as quick as can possibly be. There were a ton of photos, A TON, but there was little downtime between location changes and moving people around for group shots.
8. Sarah and her team do their work precisely and unobtrusively.
9. Finished products are professional and very nice. We were able to have a lot of input on what our finished product would look like, and communication was again quick and concise.
10. Very knowledgeable about wedding process. Provided us with a detailed timeline of when she would be taking photos.
I'll try to be as concise as I can with the rest:
During our first meeting, Sarah was very professional, personable, and very knowledgeable about the whole wedding process. We did not have a coordinator so we had a lot of questions. Sarah answered all our questions and even walked us through what the coverage of a typical wedding would be like. She had examples of engagement and wedding albums for us to look at and feel. We decided to also set up an engagement session that was much further than usual, but Sarah agreed to meet us there for a very reasonable fee.
We were 30 minutes early to the engagement session and she was already there. We got a phone call from her the day prior changing the meeting time slightly because she had been to the session location that day and it got darker a little earlier than we had expected. We spent about 4 hours in 2 different locations, but it didn't feel like it was that long. She's very engaging and you keep forgetting you're there to take pictures.
We got a few sneak peek photos a few days later and we were amazed. The photos were grand and really captured the beauty of the scenery. We are notoriously bad at taking photos, but she managed to make us look good in just about every one of them. None of the photos looked staged and they almost looked like candid shots. She's also very good at getting you to talk to your partner, laughing and catching some real candid shots.
We had ordered an engagement album along with the wedding album. We received the engagement and it was well built, and printed on very high quality paper. Sarah chooses layouts of the photos and sends you proofs via email to discuss any changes. We requested a few, she responded the next day with all the changes and we had the book in hand in about a week.
A few weeks before the wedding, we started to get emails from Sarah to confirm the timeline of events for the day. She provided us with the blocks of time she needed for all the shots she was going to take. We lumped that in with the timeline our DJ gave us and came up with a timeline for the day. She coordinated with the venue and all the other vendors to make sure she knew when the reception hall was going to be ready, requested a golf cart to move us to a specific location on the course, and to determine the best locations for the best shots.
Sarah asked for a Pinterest board to get an idea of the types of photos we wanted along with talking about stylistic preferences. We only had a few specific shot requests (flowing veil shot and in front of the building at the venue). After our engagement session, we trusted her instincts so we let her pick just about everything for the wedding.
Sarah and her team coordinated the first look along with all the photos. Once the reception started, they disappeared into the background and were almost invisible. She just pops up here and there to do the group shot or the night shot.
After the wedding, we got our sneak peek photos the very next morning and they blew us away. She was able to make our wedding look so perfect. We had seen a bunch of photos from the venue online and I think Sarah's shot were better than all of them. I put a good amount of time in this review, but considering how perfect our wedding and the wedding photography turned out, it's the very least I could do for such a talented professional
My husband and I are glad we had Sarah as our photographer. She did our engagement and wedding photography. All of the pictures look amazing!! Sarah is extremely talented and professional. Her patience and upbeat personality made us feel very comfortable from beginning to end. Thank you Sarah for making our photography experience memorable and taking awesome pictures. The only reason my husband and I get to relive every moment of our engagement and wedding is because of Sarah. She is a true master of her craft and really values the opinions of her clients. Sarah shot both our engagement and wedding photos and they are absolutely flawless. She grabbed every photo idea that we reviewed and made sure to capture each moment and detail. She literally coached me through each shot which resulted in stunning photos that I or my husband would have never been able to angle ourselves for. She's professional, kind, talented, and just an amazing person to work with. And her team reflects that. We spent a long time researching wedding photographers that captured not only the standard family formals and group shots, but also the details and the emotion throughout the day to tell the story of our beginning as husband and wife. When I found Sarah Mack, her style caught my eye and after having the opportunity to meet with her, it was clear how her relaxed and quirky personality matched her talent and fun style. Sarah has a variety of styles including light and airy, vibrant, romantic, moody, and more. Her diverse photography style makes for a great album to look back on the memories, and she will be sure to capture that perfect shot.
Choosing Sarah as our photographer for our engagement and wedding photos was the best decision we made, and she is hands down our favorite and most professional wedding vendor we worked with. She made the whole process enjoyable, natural, and fun. Her communication style is professional, effective, and efficient, which is critical in order to capture all the special moments in the day when so many people are involved throughout the wedding ceremony and reception.
On our big day Sarah arrived early with her two assistants and was focused, professional and attentive behind the lens. Our wedding day went by so quickly, but Sarah was sure to capture the pure essence of the day, and still provide excellent service. Within only two days, Sarah even sent us over a dozen teaser photos, which was so nice so that we could relive those precious moments.
If you want the most authentic, unique, and fun photos in town, Sarah is your girl. We love Sarah and can't wait for future photo sessions to capture those big milestones in our lives!
Sarah Mack is AMAZING!!! My husband and I hired Sarah as our photographer for our engagement photos as well as the wedding day. We were beyond thrilled with her photos! She has the incredible ability to really capture the essence of the special moments you would want to see in your photos. She is truly talented, skilled, and really listens to your vision, wants and needs to make it become reality. On top of the fact that she is such an awesome photographer, Sarah also has the best personality!! She is super easy to work with, very friendly, and down to earth! Yet at the same time, she keeps you on a tight schedule and pushes things forward (which is definitely a quality you need in a photographer) but she does it with so much grace, respect, calm! What my husband and I loved about her is that she makes you feel really comfortable being around her. She's wonderful to work with and such a pleasure to be around! I highly recommend Sarah!
Working with Sarah was an easy choice. Instantly after meeting her, you can tell how organized and professional she is, but also how much love and excitement she has for her work. Sarah brought our vision for our wedding truly to life and captured it in the best way I could have imagined. In November 2017, we shot our engagement photos in the Dana Point Harbor, on dock and on my father's boat and at a nearby beach capturing the most perfect sunset. We knew she was talented, but we were overjoyed when we got our photos back, more quickly than she originally promised. She really knows her stuff - both the technical aspects and the true artistry of photography. Almost a year later, for our wedding this past October, we decided to not have a first look, which made timing a little complicated. However, she was up for the challenge and curated a schedule that accommodated everything we wanted - getting ready photos at 2 respective places, couple photos while entering on a moving sail boat with a bagpiper, and our sparkler exit at the end of the night. She was honest and realistic throughout the whole time in order to help guide us through the making decision making process and offered great advice. We are truly thrilled with the way our photos turned out and definitely will find an opportunity to work with Sarah again. If you are consider using Sarah Mack Photo for your upcoming event - DO IT, you won't be disappointed.
Oh my goodness! Where do I even start? Sarah Mack is truly AMAZING!! She is a wonderful person and a genius photographer for sure!! I wish I could give her more than 5 stars!!!! My husband and I were truly very lucky to have been introduced to Sarah. I was very interested in her work and from my first phone call with Sarah, she exhibited professionalism, friendliness, and provided all the answers to my various questions! I felt so comfortable speaking to her and had a good feeling that she would be THEE photographer for our engagement shoot and wedding!
Meeting Sarah in person was even better!!! Sarah is so detail oriented and her photography exemplifies true talent and artistry--we were immediately blown away by the photos she showed us. Sarah asked us what we were looking for and I knew that she would totally capture what we wanted. Not only do you get to create a mood board prior to your shoots, you get to talk to Sarah about it and convey your vision to her prior to any of your shoots. Sarah gave us great suggestions about location, clothing, and what to bring and/or expect. She even scoped out our locations and knew the best spots to shoot. She is prepared for any weather condition and has props to give you such unique and memorable shots. If you have a specific request in mind, Sarah is your go-to for sure!!!
Sarah's work is the best I have ever seen. We were in awe when we received our engagement photos and we couldn't wait to see what was in store for our wedding photos. We received our wedding photos too and WOW...Wow....we were speechless of course. She captured EVERYTHING...and I mean everything from beginning to end. Sarah is very passionate about her work and wants to make sure you are happy with the end result, and has addressed several of my questions throughout the entire process-even after our wedding events were over! Having Sarah as our photographer is one of the best decisions we ever made and we are ever so grateful for the memories she provided us--we literally want to frame every photo! I cannot even begin to put into words the beauty that Sarah Mack Photo is able to capture. She is a true artist, and honestly such a talented individual. As a Bride, there is A LOT happening throughout the wedding day, and she was right there, capturing every small detail. She keeps you calm, makes you feel confident, and creates such amazing photos, that you almost don't believe it's you! She sent us teasers just 3 days after the wedding!!
